Retention that protects.
Controlled retention of rainwater, prevention of flooding and sustainable use
When rain becomes a burden – retention as a solution
Rainwater is vital for flora and fauna, but it can become a hazard during heavy rainfall. Increasing surface sealing is leading to more frequent overloads of sewage systems and flooding, as rainwater cannot drain away or seep into the ground quickly enough. The consequences are often flooded basements and underground garages, and significant property damage.
Rainwater retention ensures that precipitation is stored and then released gradually into the sewer system or into the ground.

Roterra retention cisterns comprise elliptical, horizontal rainwater tanks with capacities ranging from 2,200 to 16,000 liters.
The volume of a retention cistern can be individually adapted to the size of the property and specific needs. In addition to the retention volume, the cistern also features a rainwater storage tank for use in the garden or house.
A flow restrictor is installed in the retention cistern for the controlled, time-delayed release of rainwater. This allows the collected water to be slowly released into the surrounding soil or an existing storm drain. This significantly reduces or completely prevents backflow problems and flooding.

Thanks to its flat design, the RoCube is particularly suitable for properties with shallow installation depths, challenging soil conditions, or high groundwater levels. At the same time, its compact construction allows for quick and economical installation.
Made of high-quality, durable PE plastic, this flat retention tank impresses with its high stability and resilience. It can be used both in gardens and under driveways, and adapts flexibly to different property sizes and requirements.
The integrated throttling technology ensures a consistent and controlled release of the stored water. This protects the surrounding area even during heavy rainfall, and the system operates reliably in the background.
The flat tank can also be combined with a rainwater harvesting system. The stored water can then be used efficiently for garden irrigation, toilets, or washing machines – conserving resources and promoting sustainability.
FLOOD PROTECTION
Reduces the risk of flooding and reliably protects buildings from heavy rain events.
SEWER RELIEF
Relieves the public sewer system through controlled retention and delayed discharge of rainwater.
CONTROLLED DELIVERY
Integrated throttling technology ensures a uniform and standard-compliant drainage of the water.
FLEXIBLE INSTALLATION
Suitable for different plot sizes and installation situations – even with shallow installation depth.
ROBUST & DURABLE
High-quality PE containers guarantee stability, durability and long-term operational reliability.
SUSTAINABLE USE
Can be combined with rainwater harvesting systems for garden, household and resource-saving use of water.
FAQ
What is a retention tank?
A retention tank temporarily stores rainwater and releases it gradually into the sewer system or the ground. This reduces overloading and flooding.
How does the water flow throttling work?
An integrated flow restrictor ensures a controlled and even release of water. The flow rate can be adjusted as needed.
When is a retention system useful?
Especially in sealed areas, new buildings or in areas with frequent heavy rainfall – as well as when there are official requirements for rainwater retention.
Can the retention tank be combined with rainwater harvesting?
Yes, the system can be combined with a rainwater harvesting system to use water for the garden, toilet or washing machine.
How complicated is the installation?
Installation is straightforward and, depending on the tank type, possible even with a shallow installation depth. The systems require little maintenance and are durable.
