AQUABOX – Solutions for Decentralized Infiltration
Infiltration refers to the introduction of precipitation runoff into the ground via engineered infiltration systems. The increasing imperviousness of surfaces—resulting from buildings, parking lots, and roads—frequently overburdens existing sewer systems and heightens the risk of flooding. Consequently, the use of decentralized systems for rainwater infiltration is often mandated.
It is imperative to ensure that only uncontaminated water is introduced into an infiltration system.
With regard to its suitability for infiltration, precipitation runoff is considered harmless if it originates from the following types of surfaces:
- Non-metallic roof surfaces in residential areas
- Terrace surfaces in residential areas
The AQUABOX in Detail.
Aquabox is a modular element featuring a hollow, truncated-cone-shaped structure made of virgin or recycled polypropylene, designed to create underground infiltration trenches for the sustainable management of rainwater.
The elements are delivered in a stacked configuration, assembled on-site, and installed. The modules are interconnected using specialized coupling elements. Thanks to its high mechanical strength, Aquabox can be installed in both urban and industrial/commercial areas. Installation beneath trafficked surfaces (rated for SLW60 loads) is permissible, provided that the specified installation guidelines are strictly observed.
The internal geometry of the modules renders the system easily accessible for inspection, maintenance, and cleaning. The elements allow for the entry of a self-propelled camera crawler, enabling video inspection of the infiltration trench in all directions and on all levels.

AQUABOX CUBE – INSPECTION
The Aquabox CUBE module makes the system easily accessible for inspections, maintenance, and cleaning. These elements allow for the entry of a self-propelled camera crawler, enabling video inspections of the infiltration trench in all directions and planes.
The Aquabox CUBE module can also be utilized in multi-layer infiltration trenches. A stack of four Aquabox CUBE elements measures 80 cm in height—equivalent to a stack of two standard Aquabox elements.
FAQ
Only uncontaminated rainwater. This includes, for example, water from non-metallic roof surfaces or terraces in residential areas. Contaminated water (e.g., from traffic areas with oil contamination) must be treated beforehand.
Yes. Provided it is installed professionally, installation is also possible beneath trafficked areas (e.g., up to SLW60). The prerequisite is compliance with the installation guidelines and the corresponding minimum cover depth.
Thanks to its open structure, the AQUABOX is easily accessible. Special inspection modules (e.g., the Aquabox Cube) allow for the deployment of camera crawlers, enabling a complete inspection and cleaning of the infiltration trench.
